Heritage Grain Cooperative, established in 2004 through the merger of Farmers Cooperative Grain Company of Dalton City (formerly known as Racehorse Flats) and Bethany Grain of Bethany, boasts a century-long legacy of supporting farmers. The cooperative thrives on a strong partnership between its management and over 600 members, fostering significant growth for its grain elevators over the years. Operating in parts of Moultrie, Shelby, and Macon counties in Illinois, the co-op's facilities have expanded to meet increasing production demands. The Dalton City facility features a storage capacity of 4.6 million bushels, with an additional 1.5 million in temporary covered storage, and serves as a 25-railcar loading hub on the CN/IC railroad. Similarly, the Bethany facility offers 2.7 million bushels of storage and 250,000 bushels of temporary covered ground storage, highlighting the cooperative's commitment to serving its members' growing needs.
