About Alliance Grain

Alliance Grain Co., established in September 1991 through the consolidation of Anchor Grain Co. and The Farmer's Grain of Gibson City, is a farmer-owned cooperative dedicated to enhancing the profitability of its farmer-owners while maintaining the cooperative's

Since its inception, Alliance Grain Co. has strategically expanded its operations through mergers and acquisitions to better serve its members. In April 1992, the cooperative acquired Foosland Grain, including facilities in Foosland and Bellflower. This was followed by mergers with Farmer’s Grain of Charlotte in August 1994 and Sibley Grain Co. in July 2002. Additionally, in September 1997, the Cullom elevator was acquired from Tri-Central Coop, and in September 2002, the Hamilton Elevator, with facilities in Campus, Cabery, and Sunbury, was purchased. Further expansion occurred with the acquisition of Ford Grain of Melvin in June 2006, Roberts Grain in August 2017, and Herscher Grain in February 2019.

Today, Alliance Grain Co. operates 15 elevator locations throughout East Central Illinois, including Anchor, Bellflower, Cabery, Campus, Charlotte, Colfax, Cropsey, Cullom, Gibson City (West and Middle), Herscher, Melvin, Roberts, Saybrook, and Sibley. Eight of these facilities are rail load-out accessible via the Bloomer Line railroad, collectively offering approximately 25.4 million bushels of grain storage capacity.

The cooperative provides a range of services to its members, including grain storage, marketing assistance, and off-farm hauling, all at competitive prices. Governance is maintained through a board of nine directors elected from three districts, ensuring representation and active participation of its approximately 2,000 shareholders. Annual meetings are held each July to discuss operations and strategic direction.
