About Five Star Coop
Five Star Cooperative serves farmers across northeast and north central Iowa. The co-op is farmer-owned and based in New Hampton. It runs locations that offer agronomy, grain, feed, energy, and even retail hardware. The co-op has deep roots. Five Star began in 1889 and has grown through the decades by adding sites and services. In 2024 it marked 135 years with the opening of a new agronomy complex. A public timeline shows steady expansion, including facility additions in the 2000s that strengthened grain and agronomy capacity.
Grain is a core business. Five Star offers on-farm pickup, grain drying, and grain vacuuming. Across its locations, the co-op provides about 26 million bushels of storage. That lets you hold grain and sell when the price is right.
Agronomy support is full service. You can get seed, nutrients, crop protection, custom application, and precision technology. Their team focuses on listening, scouting, and managing risk so each hybrid reaches its potential. The aim is better placement, better timing, and better yields.
