About Providence
Providence Grain Solutions is a producer-owned agricultural commodity business in Canada, dedicated to connecting local producers with global markets. Established over two decades ago, the company operates five full-service primary elevators located in Crossfield, Fort Saskatchewan, Gaudin, Marengo, and Viking, each licensed and bonded by the Canadian Grain Commission. These facilities are equipped to handle a variety of commodities, offering services such as grain drying, cleaning, storage, off-farm pickups, and specialized marketing services.
The company's mission is to be the most trustworthy, respected, and effective grain solutions provider, embracing local community values and committing to products, end-users, and stakeholders alike. Providence Grain Solutions values trust, professionalism, innovation, and accountability, fostering strong relationships with both producers and end-users. Their merchant and logistics team maintains trusted relationships with local, domestic, and international customers, ensuring the supply of quality products on time and to the desired specifications.
In March 2024, Providence Grain Solutions announced a change in their head office location, effective July 1, 2024. The head office functions were moved to the Gaudin elevator and a newly-leased facility referred to as PGG Sturgeon, located approximately 10 km north of Fort Saskatchewan. This facility houses the company's trucking business and offers 15,000 metric tons of modern grain storage, enhancing their IP grain business and customer service.
Providence Grain Solutions is committed to accessibility and inclusivity, as demonstrated by their 2024–2027 Accessibility Plan. This plan outlines the company's dedication to identifying, removing, and preventing barriers to accessibility in areas such as employment, the built environment, information and communication technologies, procurement, and the design and delivery of programs and services. The plan was developed in consultation with employees, including those with disabilities, and reflects the company's commitment to creating a welcoming environment for all individuals.
